A certified true copy of your driving license, for employment purposes, is a duplicate that a licensed UAE legal professional has examined against the original and certified as accurate. Employers use it to verify a candidate’s or employee’s license for their HR or compliance file, particularly where the role involves driving a company vehicle.

This is different from simply showing your license at interview. A certified copy gives the employer a verified, retainable record.

## Certified Copies for Employers and Driving Roles

Some employers, particularly for delivery, logistics and fleet driving roles, ask for a certified true copy of driving license for employment purposes as part of their hiring or compliance checks. This page explains how we handle it.

## Who Typically Needs This

- Candidates offered a role conditional on document verification, including a driving license check
- Delivery and logistics drivers whose employer requires certified documents before assignment to a route or vehicle
- Fleet drivers whose company insurance or client contracts require certified license copies on file
- Employees moving into a role that adds driving duties to an existing position
- Companies responding to a client or tender requirement to hold certified driver documentation

## Who Can Attend, and Representative Rules

The employee or candidate should attend in person with the original driving license, since it is their document and the certifying professional needs to examine the original directly. HR or a manager generally cannot submit the license on someone else’s behalf without a valid power of attorney from that individual.

Where an employee genuinely cannot attend, a representative may be able to bring the original document with a power of attorney or written authorization.

## How It Works

1. Contact us with the employer’s document requirements.
2. Bring the original driving license and ID to the appointment.
3. The document is examined and certified in house by one of our own licensed lawyers or legal consultants.
4. Collect your certified true copy.
5. Submit it to your employer’s HR or compliance team.

## Common Mistakes to Avoid

- Submitting a plain photocopy where the employer’s policy specifically requires certification
- Not bringing the original license, which prevents certification on the day
- Assuming HR can submit the document without the employee attending or providing a power of attorney
- Leaving certification until close to a start date or onboarding deadline
- Not checking whether the employer also needs a certified Emirates ID or passport copy at the same time

## Real Situations This Covers

A logistics company extends a conditional job offer to a delivery driver, with document verification, including a certified true copy of the driving license, required before the first shift.

A courier firm onboarding several new drivers at once asks each one to submit a certified license copy for the company’s client-facing compliance file.

An existing employee is moved into a role that now includes company vehicle use, and the employer’s insurer requires an updated certified license copy on record.

## How This Differs From General Driving License Certification

[Our main Certified True Copy of Driving License page](https://certifiedtruecopydubai.ae/certified-true-copy-of-driving-license/) covers certification for any purpose. This page focuses on employment scenarios, including cases where several employees need certified copies against the same onboarding or compliance deadline.

Our plain-language guide explains how these differ.

- Passport or Emirates ID for identity verification

Questions

## Frequently Asked Questions

Employers, particularly for driving-related roles, often need a verified document they can retain on file for compliance, insurance, or client contract purposes. A certified copy provides that verification.

The license is your document, so you would normally need to attend in person or provide a power of attorney for a representative to attend for you.

Yes, we can coordinate certified copies for multiple employees, though each individual generally needs to attend with their own original license unless a valid power of attorney is in place.

Timing depends on appointment availability and urgency. [See our Same-Day page](https://certifiedtruecopydubai.ae/same-day-true-copy-attestation-dubai/) if your start date is close.

Not necessarily for the certification itself, but your employer may separately require proof the license is valid for the driving duties involved. Confirm with your employer directly.
