The certified copy carries a stamp or signature confirming this, which allows institutions to accept it in place of the original.
This differs from a standard photocopy or a self-declared copy, neither of which carries any official confirmation. It also differs from full document attestation, which is typically used when a document needs to be recognized outside the UAE. Certified true copy attestation is generally used for domestic submissions such as visa applications, bank account opening, university admissions and government filings.
