Two Routes to a Certified Copy of Your Trade License
There are two general routes to a certified true copy of a trade license. Route one is certification by a licensed UAE legal professional, a notary public or legal consultant, carried out in house at Certified True Copy Dubai. Route two, available in some cases, is applying directly to the government authority that issued the license.
The Dubai Development Authority (DDA) is one example of an issuing authority that publishes its own true copy attestation service for documents it issued, including the commercial license, certificate of incorporation, certificate of name change and Articles of Association. The DDA service is applied for online through its AXS portal by the company’s general manager, with a published fee of AED 100 per document plus AED 10 Knowledge Dirham and AED 10 Innovation Dirham, and an estimated two working day turnaround.
This direct-from-authority route applies specifically to documents issued by the DDA, not to trade licenses issued by other free zones or by the Dubai mainland authority, and government fees and processing times change, so they should be reconfirmed before you rely on them. Where your license was not issued by the DDA, or where the receiving party specifically asks for certification by a legal professional, route one is generally the applicable path.
